The Twist 'n Turn Body Sculpt.

The Twist 'n Turn body is a body mold that was first introduced in 1966 for the appropriately named Twist 'n Turn Barbie Doll Original Outfit (1160-1968).

The body is noteworthy for being the first Barbie body to have some form of articulation, as the waist could be twisted back and forth, and the legs also had a bend and snap mechanism at the knees. Some versions of the body have permanently bent arms at the waist, while others (like the first Barbie to debut the body) have straight arms. This body proved to be very popular, and saw subsequent use for playline dolls for the next couple of decades until it was eventually replaced with the Belly Button Body in the 2000's as the standard Barbie body for playline dolls.
