Rosie O'Donnell, Friend of Barbie, also simply known as Rosie O'Donnell, was a Barbie brand doll released in 1999 in collaboration with Rosie O'Donnell's then-popular talk show.

Description[]

The doll is very notable in Barbie history for having the first curvy body, although her body sculpt is unique to this doll and different from the later curvy body developed for the Fashionista line in 2016. She was released as a playline doll, not a collector's edition, and has click knees and the standard 5 points of articulation. Sculpted in the likeness of O'Donnell, the doll featured a number of accessories including a microphone, her pantsuit, sneakers, an activity book, and a hairbrush (which was amusing since the doll's hair was gelled in place). The box itself also functioned as an accessory, as it could be unfolded to reveal pictures of her set, so that you could play talk show with the doll. The doll, despite selling rather well, didn't have much longevity for play, since she could not wear most Barbie fashions at the time, due to her then-unique body mold.
