This body is characterized as having the most articulation out of all the Barbie bodies in the entire franchise, with 18 points of articulation, making this body mold the most posable out of all the body molds. Besides the standard head, arms and legs articulation, this body has posable and rotating shoulders and thighs, bendable elbows, wrists, knees, and feet, and a pivotal torso. The excessive articulation often draws comparisons to an action figure body, due to the similar looking joints.
This body proved to be very popular with fans and collectors alike, due to the endless possibilities for posing that can be achieved with the articulation, and has seen use in both playline and collector dolls ever since its debut, though it's more commonly used for playline dolls.
