Girls Join BARBIE in New Fairy Tale Adventure CD-ROM Game
Novato, Calif. – Oct. 3, 2000 – Mattel Interactive, a leading publisher and developer of home entertainment software, announced today that BARBIE® As Princess Bride CD-ROM shipped to retail stores nationwide. This PC/MAC hybrid CD-ROM game is the latest title from the BARBIE® Software for Girls® product line and is available at a suggested retail price of $29.99.
BARBIE as Princess Bride CD-ROM offers girls a brand new adventure based on the Princess Bride? BARBIE® doll. This story-based title lets girls ages four and up help Princess Bride BARBIE discover true love, then create the ultimate fairy tale wedding.
“Girls who identify with well-known characters like BARBIE are drawn to experiences where they can interact with them,” stated Bernard Stolar, president, Mattel Interactive. “BARBIE as Princess Bride CD-ROM will further capture young girls’ attention on the computer with fun games and challenging activities.”
In the game, girls explore the enchanted world of Princess Bride BARBIE and bring the fairy tale to life by playing 12 original and exciting games and activities. The title offers two game modes, Story Mode and Magic Mirror Mode. In Story Mode, girls play the adventure from beginning to end, completing each activity in sequence as they help Princess Bride BARBIE find her true love and prepare for her wedding. In Magic Mirror Mode, girls return to all their favorite areas to replay games and activities such as sorting the wedding invitations, mixing up a magical wedding cake, designing the perfect wedding dress, conducting the orchestra and helping Prince Ken sail his ship back to the kingdom.
